Bayan DSL’s free speed upgrade
I was on my way to the bank this morning when I saw BayanDSL’s banner saying something like “1,286 kbps for as low as 899″. This got me curious because my plan, which costs P1,200 (899 for the DSL and 300 for the phone line), only gives me a maximum of 700+ kbps even with the speed-on-demand promo. I called their sales hotline in the afternoon and asked if the offer is only for new customers. I was told it’s also available for existing subscribers and I must call their customer service. The CS rep just verified my details and told me he’ll upgrade my account, and the changes would take effect within 24 hours.
Here are the readings I got when I checked my Internet speed as soon as I got home tonight:

So far naman, maayos pa rin ang speed ko. Noong umulan nang malakas, nawala sandali. :p

too many dsl offering service here in cagayan de oro. but the only widespread subscribed is smart bro because it can service anyone anywhere. the only sad thing is that you can only get up to 384kbps… that’s if you’re lucky…. anyways… i was kinda hoping bayan dsl could reach their service up to my area… too bad… they have have too many advertisements here but they only serve the heart of the city… so i call out to the bayan operations… “please widen your coverage.”

sir ederic, asko ko lang kung yung free upgrade pwede kahit matagal na subscriber? i mean kahit 1 year plus na? kasi kakatawag ko lang ngayon sa bayan sabi nun CS na nakausap ko ichecheck pa daw niya yung contract ko if cover pa ako sa promo kasi 1 year plus na daw ako. tatawagan na lang daw niya ako by tom kung ano feedbac. sana kasama rin ako sa promo.

chicocheska: Ganyan din ang Sun Cellular sa amin sa Marinduque. Hindi abot sa barangay namin.
jepoyski: Di ko lang sigurado kung factor ba yung pagiging more than a year. Alam ko yung SOD promo nila, free for one year after installation. November 2006 pa pala ako lumipat sa Bayantel, so ibig sabihin, mahigit isang taon na akong subscriber.

Ingat lang kayo sa Bayan DSL mga dudz maganda yan sa una after 1 month lalabas na yung totoong ugali niyan pag tapos na yung money back guarranty nila well, tignan niyo na lang. I-pinost ko na sa youtube yan gamit webcam ko sa DSL speed test bina-block ng server ng Bayantel yung Speedtest para di nyo malaman yung totoong speed.
Payong kapatid dun sa may gripe sa Bayan DSL employees mag speakerphone kayo at mag webcam in short i-record niyo at ipaulit ulit niyo yung pangalan nun mga bastos na employees then i-post niyo sa youtube titino yan pag napapahiya na sayang lang ginastos nila sa mga banner at advertisement pag nakita ng mga tao yung ugali nila (if they got nothing to hide then they got nuthin’ to be afraid of di ba).

I agree with Youtubekokayo, maganda ang service ng bayanDSL sa first few months. Pero pagtagal, doon mo na makikita lahat ng klase ng problema… mula sa high latency, slow DL speed, intermitent disconnections, no connectivity, slow connection, at isama mo na pati rude na Tech Support Reps nila.
I’ve posted all my communications with BayanDSL at http://request-timed-out.blogspot.com and http://bayandsl.multiply.com. Well… official communications plus rants! hehehe
